The Precision Medicine & A.I. Revolution

According to IBM, it 2.5 quintillion bytes of data is generated every day, and 90% of the data currently available in the world was generated in the last two years alone. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and the Precision Medicine Initiative of 2015 have endorsed the value of medical data. Since 80% of medical data is unstructured, artificial intelligence (A.I.) can help to generate insights from large volumes of data. A.I. has become disruptive Innovations in biomedical sciences, and has great impacts on pharmaceutical & biotech industries. Building on the foundation of Taiwan’s successful ICT industry, Taiwan government is turning its sights toward the biomedical industry. Therefore, the Development Center for Biotechnology (DCB) will organize this event to invite leading A.I. & biomedical experts to share their insights.
